Sean Kingston And His Mother Are Indicted In A $1 Million Fraud Scheme

Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were indicted by a grand jury in Miami on Friday, following accusations that they committed more than $1 million worth of fraud. The 34-year-old KIngston and his 61-year-old mother are accused of false claims that they sent bank transfers to pay for luxury jewelry and vehicles. The office says that the fraud charges are part of an alleged “scheme to defraud victim sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods purchased by the defendants through the use of fraudulent documents.”

According to the indictment, they are accused of stealing nearly $500,000 in jewelry, over $300,000 from various banks, $160,000 from a Cadillac Escalade dealer, and $86,000 from a customized bed maker. Kingston and Turner were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and five counts of wire fraud. If convicted, they each face up to 20 years in prison on each count.
